The UHV Small Business Development Center is part of a nationwide business assistance program that offers free, one-stop business management assistance through business advising, business training and by providing technical assistance and information. In addition, we partner with specialty resource centers across the nation to deliver current, relevant and specific business assistance as it relates to your unique business concept.

Over the past year we have helped obtain $11-million in new capital for our client projects, which helped to create 187 jobs and 41 new businesses in the Victoria region.

Just like traditional academic programs, we focus our time on educating clients; however our focus is primarily on individual advising rather than larger classroom settings. We spend the majority of our time with individuals in confidential settings so that we can help identify the individual’s strengths and weaknesses. We analyze the entrepreneur and the business concept simultaneously and then recommend strategies to help both the individual business owner and the business become better equipped to grow and prosper.
